This is my house in Google SketchUp!
This is the entrance to my house, completely custom.
This is my garage. Notice the Mclaren F1 LM.
This is the backyard. Alot of stuff was imported, like the table and fountain. The bridge, picture, and pool are custom, however.
This is the pool. I especially like the Mona Lisa, and its stone frame.
And this is my river. The Yacht is imported, but I made the bridge myself.
I really liked using Google SketchUp. I found it quite fun. I enjoyed learning how to make sphere, and just having a general good time. I liked watching other's make their SketchUps, like Jayzelle's treehouse, and Arielle's townhouse with the rooftop pool (TBC)
I really liked this video. It reminded me of the Jesse Miller (I think) presentation we had a couple of years ago. Good points:
Excellent points on social media.
Good explanation of dangers online.
I liked how the message got through to the students. Points that need improvement:
Did not go into details about viruses.
Not much detail on identity theft. Overall Rating: B
Internet Safety
1. I believe internet safety is being protective of your personal safety and identity on the internet, by thinking before doing/posting.
2. Some of the dangers of going online are identity theft, being vulnerable to predators, and chat rooms (by giving away your address, phone number secrets).
3. To be safer, you can set up a secure firewall, avoid chat rooms, don’t post without thinking, and above all, don’t post personal information (such as an address).
4. Parents or teachers can help by having discussions about internet safety with their student/child, check their computers for viruses/cookies, develop a sense of trust about the internet, and make sure their child/student knows not to share personal information online.
5. You can help someone else be safer online by discussing the dangers, and assisting them in setting up safer habits on the internet.
